Cigna offers a number of different dental insurance plans, each of which is unique. Most of their plans are PPO, which gives you the freedom to use your benefits at virtually any dental or specialty practice.

Here are some generalized notes on how your coverage might work:

  • Preventive care, such as cleanings and exams, is often 100% covered.
  • Basic services, including fillings, may be up to 80% covered.
  • Major services, including many of the oral surgery procedures performed in our office, are frequently up to 50% covered.
  • Cigna plans tend to have an annual maximum, which places a yearly limit on the value of your benefits. Depending on your plan, the maximum could be between $1,000 and $3,000.
  • You may also be subject to a deductible and a waiting period before your benefits fully kick in.
